Grown-up Meg, tomboyish Jo, timid Beth, and precocious Amy. The four March sisters couldn’t be more different. But with their father away at war, and their mother working to support the family, they have to rely on one another. Whether they’re putting on a play, forming a secret society, or celebrating Christmas, there’s one thing they can’t help wondering: Will Father return home safely?
Things I enjoyed about this book:
This is truly a classic book. The writing in Little Women is beautiful and resinates with you. I loved the in-depth character portrayals and watching the girls grow up through the good and the bad. The entire book is wholesome and uplifting!
The Things I Didn’t Enjoy:
You can’t really complain about a classic… The only complaint I have falls on me. I have seen so many film renditions of Little Women it was hard to power through on some parts because I knew exactly what was going to happen. If I could go back in time, I’d read it first!
MRS BIRDS WORDS REVIEW
Louisa May Alcott deserves 5 out of 5 bird feathers for his masterpiece, Little Women! Not only is it awesome, but she published it in 1868. This book makes you fall in love with reading. Every teen should read it. It gives you such a range of emotions and allows you to grow with the character. Like I said earlier, watching the movies/series before did take away a lot of the surprise for me. I am happy to say there were still some parts of the story that has never been adapted into film and they were quite funny. I definitely recommend this classic for everyone. One of my life goals now to have 4 girls just so I can have my own “Little Women.”
You may have a more educated and wholesome teen after having them read Little Women.
