First Women: The Grace and Power of America’s Modern First Ladies
by Kate Andersen Brower
I give this book 3 out of 5 birds. After recently reading Becoming by Michelle Obama, I wanted to dive deeper into the lives of the First Ladies. At the beginning of the book I was in love and so intrigued by the stories of the women. I wanted to be part of their private little sorority. However towards the middle of the book, I felt like it was gossipy and more opinion based then informational. While I did enjoy the stories, I didn’t want to hear of who liked who and who didn’t. Part of it is because I can only imagine the desire these women have to maintain some of their privacy. Overall, it was good but I’d probably recommend a different book about the First Ladies (that I have yet to find-so send recommendations).
