Fablehaven by Brandon Mull….
I didnāt hate it but I definitely didnāt love it. I usually have the ability to think like the reader a book was intended for but I just havenāt mastered middle grade boy. Seth (one of the main characters) was hands down one of my top five most annoying characters ever. Some of the parts were so outlandish I had to roll my eyes. I read this based on a recommendation from my 12 year old nephew who claimed he liked it better than Harry Potter…. so maybe I just started out in the wrong foot. Nothing beats Potter š.
So maybe just buy this one for the preteen boy in your life……
