I give this book 4 out of 5 birds. I was definitely emotionally invested in this novel and needed to finish it to put the pieces together. It had so much heart and soul and I’m sick to my stomach that this is based on a true events. I can’t even imagine as a mother being told I lost my child, when in reality lost meant kidnapped and given up for adoption. I loved Avery’s character and the romance weaved within the story.
The descriptions throughout the book were painted so well in my mind from Lisa’s words. I wanted to laugh and cry with the characters.
I’m not a huge historical fiction fan- but this one I liked. So if you’re like me, this might be a good fit.
