I give The War with Grandpa three out of five birds. It was a solid Meh. I really liked the beginning but lost interest as it continued. I thought Pete was a total putz kid with an overly obnoxious younger sister. Maybe I’m too harsh of a critique because it’s been so longer since I was that young. But I would have told the kid to suck it up and use it as a learning experiencing. I picked this book up for two reasons, research in a book I am personally writing and because a movie is supposed to be released. It was short and I finished it in one night. It’s also pretty outdated, which is fine and can even be fun sharing with your child. So read it if you want, but you can skip it too….
