I give Celeste Ng 4 out of 5 birds for Everything I Never Told You. This was a very unique read. It was terribly sad and depressing but beautifully written. I wanted to finish, but it was by no means a happy book. So perhaps wait until after Covid-19. The pain and sorrow in this book went deep. It explores a relationship after a child dies and how they potentially got there. As a mom it was hard to hear both sides of how things were viewed. The mom wants the best for her child and the child views it terribly. Honestly the situation felt like a hot mess, but it was well done. If you enjoy getting to know your characters on a deeper level, being drawn in and emotionally invested. Then this book is for you. It’s not a thriller, more like an emotional kicker.
