I give Dana Mele’s book People Like Us 3 out of 5 birds. The beginning of this book drew me in but then I lost my gumption for it in the middle. I finished it and the ending was not completely what I expected, so I felt redeemed. It was very mean girl vs mean girl and that gets old. I already lived that crap long ago, why would I want to keep reading about it?! Just kidding, kind of. I did like the programming and coding was incorporated into the story and that it was the females involved. When I was 15 I didn’t know what programming was! I think if I would have seen/heard more of it I wouldn’t have waited so long to try it. It was very relationship fluid- is that how you say it? So if you are looking for LGBTQ+ novels, this one would be a good one! Overall it was a good Covid19 listen, would I take it to the beach maybe not….
