I give the Wild Robot by Peter Brown a 5 out of 5 birds! I absolutely loved reading this book with my four year old. We laughed, gasped, and even tear up. I appreciated how Peter tied in the Earth’s ecosystem and it’s natural consequences. It allowed us many talking points and opportunities for questions. The characters were so simple but so lovable. I didn’t think I would even ‘like’ this book a lot, but it has pictures which makes it easier to read to a four year old. In the end, I loved it!!!
We read the large print version and it had pictures throughout. I think it’s a little bit advanced for a beginner chapter book because of length and amount of pages between pictures. Once your kid has made it through some of the Roald Dahl books then this would be a good next step!
