The Seven or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna by Juliet Grames

I give Juliet Grames 5 out of 5 birds for her novel The Seven of Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna! This was also a recommendation from my brother in law and I devoured it.. This is a fictionalized story of two real sisters Stella and Tina. Some of the best plot moves I’ve ever read are in just the first pages of this story. It follows the sisters throughout the entire life. It examines each relationship and hardship they face. Stella feels like she has a curse put upon her and she faces death 7 or 8 times… Get it? It definitely was a long book, but I felt like it was a good investment of my time. It’s very tragic, sad, and beautiful all at the same time? I wouldn’t say it’s a happy read. It was great and descriptive writing and while the book was long I didn’t find myself bored. It has sexual assault and domestic abuse.
