I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Ian Reid

Okay Iain Reid, wait WHAT JUST HAPPENED???? You get a medium fried 3 out of 5 birds for I’m Thinking of Ending Things. When I finished this book I thought this was the literal worst. Started out strong and then it was butchered…. because I had no idea what had happened. Then I did some research and realized the whole plot twist and I kind of admire it. But still, I don’t like to have to do a lot of research after reading a book just to understand it. I’d say it has a small Catcher in the Rye vibe and focuses on mental illness. I’m glad books are talking about it, but I envisioned this book going in a much different direction.
