The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey

I give Eowyn Ivey five out of five birds for her novel The Snow Child! This wasn’t a book I would probably have picked up unless my brother in law had recommended it and I’m glad he did. It was beautiful! I loved it from beginning to end. The characters were lovable and my heart ached for Mabel and Jack as their story was told. The scenery throughout the novel was picturesque and also left me a little cold. I’d recommend a blanket with this book if you’re a wimp like me. The secondary characters were also a highlight throughout. A lot of time’s “extra” characters are meh, but I loved Ester. I’d definitely recommend this one. Follow Mabel and Jack on their adventure in the Alaskan backwoods and laugh, cry, and wonder with them. It was also a relatively clean book that I’d be comfortable recommending to just about anyone! This one would be great for a book club with lots of discussion.
